To Enhance the Exposure and Recruitment of Underrepresented Students to Health Professional Programs at McGill University

This program supports student-led initiatives focused on mentoring, outreach, and recruitment for CEGEP and high school students interested in health professions education. Administered by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Community Engagement and Belonging HPE Committee, the program empowers students to design and lead activities that promote access, engagement, and a sense of belonging across health professional pathways.

Supported initiatives may include peer and near-peer mentoring, community-engaged outreach activities, and recruitment efforts that increase awareness of health careers and educational opportunities. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning, meaningful relationship-building, and sustained engagement, with students playing central roles in planning, implementation, and reflection.

Through this program, the Faculty invests in student leadership and educational innovation that strengthen connections between learners and communities, support early professional identity formation, and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive health professions education environment.
