Financial Support for External Internship Supervisors
Dialogue McGill offers funding to cover the needs of internship opportunities within Quebec, specifically for innovative programs in environments with fewer resources or that may require outside clinical supervisors.
In most cases, the health and social services institutions that accept interns have the professional resources to provide a level of supervision which meets the requirements of educational institutions; however, environments with fewer such resources may have internship opportunities, and innovative programs that may require outside supervisors.
With this in mind, Dialogue McGill provides funding to cover the clinical supervisory needs in order to support internship programs.
Funding Amount
$1,000 - $5,000
Funding per request is contingent on individual need and is assessed at the time of application.
Application Process
The current funding deadlines are listed below. Educational institutions may request funding at any point during the fiscal year, but applications and reimbursements will be processed at each funding deadline.

How to Apply
Educational Institutions must complete the Clinical Supervisory Needs form and submit to retention.dialoguemcgill@mcgill.ca.
In order to apply, the institution must not be able to provide supervision meeting the requirements of the academic program. For example, no supervisor having the training required by the education program is available.
Supervision Report
The educational institution must monitor the internship. Upon completion of the internship, the coordinator at the institutions must forward a supervision report (Appendix B) to Dialogue McGill.
Eligible Expenses
Supervision costs: salaries and professional fees.
Travel expenses from education institution to internship region.
Travel expenses within internship region.
Housing expenses in internship region.
Indicate any other appropriate spending categories relating to measures for special supervisory needs, e.g. computer microphone or other accessories for online supervision .
The education institution must save all invoices and receipts.
