With the expected renewal of the Action Plan for Official Languages in 2028, the context is particularly conducive to discussion and reflection on OLMCs and health. This colloquium provides an opportunity to bring together individuals with diverse backgrounds who share a common interest in Quebec’s English-speaking communities or French-speaking communities elsewhere in Canada, including researchers, managers, health professionals, and decision makers from federal, provincial, and territorial governments.
Plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, and poster sessions will provide opportunities to reflect on past progress and look toward the future by:
Examining progress made and identifying future directions in research, data, projects, tools, interventions, and knowledge mobilization aimed at improving OLMCs’ access to equitable (appropriate, safe, and effective) health services in the official language of their choice;
Discussing best practices and innovative approaches that contribute to improving access to health services for OLMCs in the official language of their choice, and exploring the potential transferability of these practices and approaches;
Exchanging perspectives on common challenges related to data collection and analysis, as well as knowledge mobilization regarding the health of OLMCs, and exploring potential solutions.
